After watching Still the Enemy Within I am moved to ask if there is a will to mark the 40th anniversary of the strike with events that can inform and empower people. The 84/85 strike was a battle lost in a war that still rages and the inspiration of those who still won't bow down to corrupt authority shines as a beacon to those of us who believe in a better world. I'm here to help with others who want to get the ball rolling.
I think so, maybe next year can have some events to celebrate this great strike since the worker movement is back to be active. For this new tide, everyone can learn something from the magnificent achievements and the bitter defeat of miners, as long as other strikes such as 1926 general strike. The shadow of bloody Thatcher is still on Britain's sky as neoliberal policies along with privatization continue for 40 years, yet workers' political consciousness still need more agitations to be aroused. If anyone want to do anything or share some good ideas please count me in.
